Dear Mr. President --

You have been on my mind so after this week -- There are so very many people who believe in you and what you are trying to do for our country --

Take heart in knowing that your No. 1 fan thanks you every day for your help in saving her wonderful state.

With appreciation

Kathleen

Dear Mr. President --

I came up for the day to visit all of my White House friends, and was hoping to be able to visit with you for a few minutes --

I'm leaving on Monday to spend Christmas with Debbie & Tom Seibert in Stockholm -- Isn't it wonderful of them to include me in their first Christmas in Sweden? I can hardly contain myself -- I'm so excited!

I hope you have a good and restful Christmas -- Good luck with your speech tonight -- I know [underlined twice] that you will do well -- I hope I get back to Richmond in time to see it --

Have a good holiday. The White House looks magical --

Fondly,

Kathleen

Dear Mr. President,

It has come to my attention that the position of United States representative to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature is now vacant.

I would very much like to be considered for this position and would like to meet with you at your earliest convenience to discuss this appointment.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Willey

Dear Mr. President

A few weeks ago, I contacted Nancy about Chase Arden, a little boy here in Richmond. As you can see from the enclosed articles, he died awaiting a bone marrow transplant, which was denied him by the Prudential Health Care System.

My request for help from the White House was turned over to a young woman in agency whom I only know as Helen. You should know that she was so very eager to help us and made herself available to assist our needs in any way that she and the White House could.

Unfortunately, Chase died before we could help him.

I want you to know how very, very much I appreciate all that you and Nancy did to help me. I feel confident that once the Ardens recover from the initial shock of their little boy's death, they will continue their fight in Chase's name in the hope that they can try to prevent this from happening to someone else's child. I know that they will want to contact the White House again for help in that endeavor, and I hope that help will again be available to them.

Thank you again for helping us.

I hope you stay well --

Kathleen

Dear Mr. President,

I have just returned from Jakarta, Indonesia, where I attended the Convention on Biological Diversity as a public member with the United States delegation.

Thank you once again for allowing me the opportunity to be with such a fine group representing you and our country. Our delegation was comprised of knowledgeable, well respected members whose advise and counsel was constantly sought after, even though our Senate has not yet ratified the Rio Convention. Special recognition should be given to our head of delegation, Rafe Pomerantz from the State Department and David Hales, Director of the Global Environment Center at USAID our second head of delegation. It goes without saying that Tim Wirth did his usual outstanding job representing the United States.

It was a great honor being there.

I learned so much and made many new friends from all over the world.

I also spent one day in a rain forest followed by a day diving the coral reef on the island of Sulawesi.

Experiences which I will never forget.

Although I have been in constant touch with Bob Nash in Presidential Personnel, we are still having a lot of difficulty finding a job for me, which is understandable with all the current budget cuts.

In light of that fact, I respectfully ask that you consider me for a position on your re-election campaign, on a national level.

I have worked on various campaigns over the years and feel that I have much to offer your campaign.

It is more important than ever, for our country, for our children and their children that you are re-elected and I am committed to that goal.

I am now in a position to move to Washington and know that while I am very much in need of employment, I think that the Clinton/Gore Campaign needs me too. I am free to travel and work on your behalf for the next year.

I will be in Washington on December 11th and 12th and I hope that I might be able to have a few minutes of your time to discuss this further.

I will call Nancy [Nancy Hernreich, director of Oval Office operations] and let her know when I arrive.

I have followed every day of your trip to Europe this past week and have seen the wonderful reception given you at every step. How proud you must be of your role as peacemaker in this troubled world of ours!

Thank you for taking the time to read this - I hope to see you next week.

Fondly,

Kathleen

Dear Mr. President --

Congratulations on your outstanding win on November 5th. How fortunate for all that you will lead us into the 21st Century. I'm so sorry about Virginia, but we did come very close, didn't we?

I remember so well the election night celebration in Little Rock in 1992 and the feeling of renewed hope that we all felt that night, a sentiment that remains with so many of us still.

My best wishes for your continuing good health, happiness and success for the next four years.

Fondly,

Kathleen

Dear Nancy,

Before Ed's death we were promised faithfully by the DNC that we would be included in one of the White House's Christmas parties in recognition of our efforts and fund-raising during the 1992 campaign.

Somehow, we slipped through the cracks and we were never included. I would be so appreciative if I and my guest could be included this year.

I hope this finds you well and happy.

I think of you often and hope that you are managing to escape the intrusions that have plagued so many of us who are friends of the President. I am so glad that we were successful in 1996 and know that we continue to be in good hands. I wish you all the best and hope you have peaceful and happy Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Fondly,

Kathleen
