Traffic jams

Traffic jams in the Netherlands are very predictable. Statistics are readily available, so here are the places to avoid during the morning and afternoon rush-hours (and the average length of traffic jams there over 1997):

  • A2 Between Everdingen interchange and Everdingen, towards Utrecht (6 km).
  • A9 Between Badhoevedorp and Haarlem South, towards Amsterdam (4 km).
  • A2 Between Nieuwegein and Nieuwegein South, towards Den Bosch (5 km).
  • A2 Between Nieuwegein and Vianen, towards Den Bosch (4 km).
  • A2 Between Nieuwegein South and Vianen, towards Utrecht (6 km).
  • A12 Between The Hague Centre and The Hague Bezuidenhout, towards Den Haag (4 km).
  • A2 Between Vinkeveen and Breukelen, towards Amsterdam (7 km).
  • A10 Between Hemhavens and Coenplein interchange, towards Coenplein interchange (3 km).
  • A12 Between Bunnik and Driebergen, towards Utrecht (6 km).
  • A13 Between Berkel en Rodenrijs and Overschie South, towards Rotterdam (6 km).
  • A10 Between Hemhavens and Coenplein interchange, towards Nieuwe Meer interchange (3 km).
  • A1 Between Muiderslot and Muiderberg interchange, towards Amsterdam (5 km).
