The Dutch hang birthday calendars on their toilet doors and are always in meetings, are judiciously friendly and very opinionated. They think foreigners should simply adjust to the Dutch way of life. But how? "For heaven's sake, let's stop talking and do something!"
'Do you want to sit down? I'll stand!' A slogan often seen on public transport. Young travellers are strongly encouraged to make way for elderly or infirm travellers who cannot find a place to sit.
